The painting is part of series “Thread of femininity”. The main subject of the paintings is female figure. Ornaments in the backgrounds to control the mood of an artwork. Women are covered in delicate materials and placed them in colorful backgrounds. The focus is on delicate and soft forms of the models and the game of shadow and light. Laces are used as an ornament. The main subject is female emotions. Even though there are no portraits, the feelings are expressed through body language. The series is a study of female nature and the delicate and sensitive aspects.

Aleksandra Kalisz, b. 1992, Gdynia, Poland. Currently living and working in Venice, Italy. Studied Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Got Master degree in the studio of Maciej Świeszewski in 2016. In 2014 participated in LPP Erasmus programme in Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. Specializes in painting, drawing, and installation.

“Legs are Lost” by Piotr Dudek

This is a stylistic exercise in drawing by Dudek. Spot how many styles of drawing you can see in this one.

This is a gliceé fine art print of the original artwork.
Which means it is printed in high resolution with high-grade pigmented ink on acid-free 300 gr./m2 Fabriano fine art paper. This gives a greater degree of detail, a larger color spectrum and the art print will retain the color fastness and not fade and turn yellow like regular posters. This is considered to be the best printing technique for reproduction of drawings and paintings.

Follow the link in the description or visit our shop here on Instagram for more works by Dudek.

Piotr Dudek artistic endeavors are not easy to classify: his visual inspirations range from Paolo Uccello, surrealism through German neo-expressionism and old Russian illustrations to comic books and others.

His favorite material is packing paper, because it allows the work to breathe and his artistic philosophy is to accept as much accident as possible, not to be controlled by the intellect. His method of work is organic and also like the one of a sculptor – he compulsively builds up the matter and only then subtracts whatever is necessary.

The theme of the work are mainly figures, human, animalistic or both at the same time. The artist is trying to make the viewer wonder whether those creatures act in a rational way or they are just driven by the chaos around them. In other words: “Does the thing I’m looking at have a brain?”. Also, he considers giving titles to works an important part of the artistic process. Associations between images and words are a playground.

My Buemann is a graduate from the The Royal Danish Academy of Design and a Copenhagen based artist and illustrator who primarily works with drawings, analog photo collages and silkscreen prints.⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
The universe of Buemann is mostly are created from thin black lines and focuses mostly on communicating difficult emotions in a simple way. She strives to cut right to the bone – No unnecessary lines. In every drawing she is trying to say a lot with very little.⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
The expressive simplicity is common in Buemanns illustrations, whose graphic work is tight and conceptually strong.⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
"I have always been interested in people and often address people’s feelings – rational or irrational – in my work. I use myself as a starting point but a lot of people recognize themselves in my work. I think it’s crucial that we don’t neglect our feelings, but that we dare to acknowledge them, which is part of being alive. I hope that my drawings can be used as a tool which for a moment, makes us feel ourselves.”⠀

Louise Bech Pedersen is a graduate from the Royal College of Art in London and an artist and designer living in Copenhagen.

Through a vast variety of styles and expressions her work spands from studies of wildlife and landscape, to comic strips, to an imagery of fables and fairy tales, to apparel fashion print design. In many of her paintings, with Nature as a foremost source of inspiration, she intertwines natural motifs with elements from the world of comics, thus creating an unconventional context.

In Bech’s drawings, quote: “small doodles on big issues” she comments on life in momentary observations and somewhat cynical, but humorous, statements. Her recent projects include murals and a light installation.

Hunderup works in a cross-field between architecture and fine art. A focus on spacial elements and multiple layers, inspired by temporary architectural constructions, and abandoned industrial buildings in decay, characterise her artworks.⠀⠀⠀

In her praxis are objects and elements with pure functional qualities and history of use, processed and transformed to motifs of aesthetic value, producing new identities and meanings. This is being done through combining it with other media, through the specific composition or colour choice.⠀⠀⠀

Based in Aarhus, Mormor started his career in an early age in the streets where you could come for tea surrounded by murals which reflects our quirky society. Today a lot of his pieces can be experienced on canvas or paper and is exhibited in Berlin, New York, Munich as well as in Copenhagen.⠀
⠀
The style of drawing is young, fresh and easy to recognise as an illustration by the hand of Mormor with its very personal expression: Buildings, cities, figures and several other images appear with the well-known line in various medias. With a playfull approach he keeps on challenging his media, exploring several techniques of painting and printing and never ending the process of constantly renewing himself as an artist.⠀
⠀
“I love to experiment and play with materials. To me it’s essential to have some really strong ideas behind the pieces and try it out whether it’s an illustration or a technique. I work with a lot of different people from private buyers to educational institutions and art institutions. I suppose I just have this strong interest in people, creating art to the people and love to visualise their stories in my pieces.”⠀

Original oil painting by Marck Fink. Size: 195 × 155 cm / 76.77 × 61.02 inches. Mediums: Oil, acrylic and charcoal on cotton-canvas

The celebration/lost in celebration" are about light and darkness, about long nordic joyful summer nights where everything seems possible, people everywhere laughing, talking, swimming… We celebrate life, lovers, families and friendships!

One day the party is gone and the darkness takes over.

Days are getting shorter, brown leaves on the ground, cold mornings, wet nights and the darkness around us seems like it will never leave us again. We have to deal with the nordic melancholy and find the light in our minds until that day where the early spring will guide us toward the outer light again

Marck Fink is inspired by graphic fragments and rhythmic structures - from sources like publications, the Internet and own photographic material. A constant search for symbols and icons from the past and the present, which may be included in the artworks. Characters that reveals a new world of stories and hidden layers.

The creation starts in a vacuum more than on a blank canvas, the stories are born, during a process of conscious and unconscious factors that come into play in a dynamic rhythm. The artwork is created based on obstacles, versus the search for new paths, and the process itself suddenly also become part of the story.

Original by Piotr Dudek

This is a contemporary oil painting sized 100x150 cm, landscape format. In terms of style it balances between figuration and abstraction. It is reminiscent of a mysterious, surreal scenery, where strange objects interact with each other in strange ways. Loosely inspired by the work of Yves Tanguy. It is mostly an oil painting with addition of acrylic and pen drawing. The painting was selected to take part as the best pieces on the “Coming Out exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw”.

Emilie Aastrup graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2013 and works with drawing, painting, illustration, prints and zines.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In her artworks Emilie examines how humans relate to their environment. Both in terms of the relation to nature and the city, but also the space created in relation to other people and the ego itself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Aastrup uses drawings and paintings to visualize intangible everyday phenomena that are difficult to maintain and put into words. The term interacts with the figurative narrative language and the abstract degraded language. The works are often part of a long-term exploration of a topic or problem which is supported by systematic drawing experiments.⠀⠀

Anja Hemmingsen, b. 1972 Copenhagen, are among the many contemporary artists who have turned to traditional techniques in the visual arts. Specifically, painting and more precisely acrylic on canvas.

The main topic is a reconstructed reality usually inspired by photographs, postcards or clippings from books and magazines. Hemmingsen’s works can often be traced back from geographical and topographical natural phenomenons. But in general has the viewer few clues from which to deduct a the particular natural inspiration. The recurring mixture of cubic / constructive elements and references to nature/landscapes ensure that each image is perceived as an independent composition of colors and shapes.

The colors in the works of Anja Hemmingsen are one of the main driving forces in Hemmingsens artistic ambitions. Where she challenges the viewer through sliding shades, opposite brushstrokes and above all in the texture where it is the purpose for the viewer to accept the consequences that goes beyond or even across the decorative.

Anja Hemmingsen has among others participated in several juried exhibitions in Denmark.
